Saw the show last night and it was wonderful, fantastic and so entertaining. Friends had raved about it last year but we did not get there at the time so when we heard it was coming back we were thrilled. Tex was truly entertaining and engaging. Great to see such a talented man continuing to evolve from ,when first time we saw him, in the 80’s – Cruel Sea and Beast of Bourbon days to the showman he is today. Kudos to all.

Just been to the show in Dunedin and it was awesome. Fantastic show, would go again tomorrow if they were here another night. They got a well deserved standing ovation which is no mean feat for a conservative Dunedin crowd. This show is something special and not to be missed. In summing up “BRILLANT”.

Seen the Sydney Opera House September 10 show of The Man in Black. Thought it was amazing. Would buy the dvd and/or cd for sure. Really enjoyed it. Tex’s voice was identical to johnny’s. Very interesting to learn about Johnny’s life. Great comedy too. Rachel was beautiful and the Tennasse Four excellent. One question though which I’ve been trying to find out. Who was the little girl they brought out on the stage at the end of the show to bow? Tex’s daughter?

Saw the show on Sat 18th September at the Palais. I cannot recommend this show highly enough. Tex Perkins is UNBELIEVABLE as Johnny Cash and Rachael Tidd (I think) who plays June is just as brilliant. Tex had Johnny down to a tee, his mannerisms the way he played his guitar and THE VOICE, close your eyes and would you imagine it was Johnny singing not Tex. Well done to everyone involved in putting the show together it was just awesome. We went with a group of friends and we all couldnt stop raving about it. The band were brilliant too. I cant wait for it to be shown in Melbourne again as i will be definitely going again. Loved it loved it loved. GO SEE IT !!! Kellie

Fantastic. Best thing I have ever seen. Went to the show in Perth on saturday and haven’t stopped thinking and talking about it since. I was a major Tex perkins fan which was the draw card for me. Am now madly googling anything Johnny Cash.
Please come back to Perth. Please please please.

Absolutely Brilliant – my feet didn’t stop dancing from start to finish – would have danced down the aisles if i could have got out from the middle of the row!!! One of the best performances i’ve been to in a while – only down side…… no CD of the show to buy…. if it ever does go on sale pleeeease make sure to let me know. The band were amazing, Rachel – spectacular voice (inspired me to start singing again) and Tex…….well if anyone was going to be able to pull it off, just amazing!! You woke Perth Up!!!!!

Sister took me Fri 4 Sept Regal Perth didn’t tell me who or what it was about as a surprise and made me look down when we got there so not to see the signs, then saw the instruments, double bass and thought this is gunna be cool, T4 came out cool, Tex came out double cool, then started singing Cash I burst into hidden tears, what my sister didn’t know because we don’t hang out much is that my best mates and I did a few Cash songs in our little party/jam nights we had every Friday and I imagined us doing something like a Cash Show and so to see there before me Tex and Co doing a Johnny Cash show was just overwhelming, and my sister just totally fluked it lol. Thank you to Tex, Rachael, T4, and all involved for making my dream into a reality, funny how the universe works.

WOW! loved this show. i took the family which included my 8 year old son who loves Johnny cash. I showed him a clip of the show before i bought tickets he said “he doesn’t look much like johnny cash but he sounds like him” He then went on to watch the clip continuously until we went to the show last night. Well done to all involved and to Tex Perkins your magic. I looked up to the ceiling during the show and your voice was so much like Johnnys. You have a lot of talent and thank you for portraying him so well. Hopefully a dvd can be made so my boy can watch the show again. If not i hope this show tours again, because i will be first in for tickets! Thanks a million for making this show so great and for making my little boys night!

Saw the Wednesday 25 August show at the Regal theatre in Perth and loved the diversity. Cash’s songs suit Tex Perkins tenor voice perfectly and I just loved songs from the beginning to the end, especially Jackson and the poignant Hurt. Perth audiences are not big on standing ovations but he got one here. Great chemistry between Tex and his ‘ June Carter’. Apologies for the moron who yelled out during one of the poignant songs. You handled him brilliantly.Gary

Fantastic, a balmy dry season night in Darwin and Tex and the whole team putting on a show that had the crowd left calling for more.
My parents came along even though they had no idea who Tex Perkins is but they saw Johhny Cash live many years ago and they were in no way disappointed.
Tex has such a fantastic voice that he carries the show without seeming to try.
I’d go a second time if I could.

My mum used to take me to see Johnny Cash when I was a kid, I took her to see Tex and the band today in Adelaide. The show was brilliant, the musicians and Rachael were fantastic, there was nothing at all that could have been improved. Tex morphed into Johnny Cash with no effort at all. The range of songs were wonderful, I just wished I could have danced!

I saw the opening night in Adelaide, (Thursday 22nd July)… and I was deeply moved, and enthralled with the performances of Tex Perkins, Rachael Tidd, and the “Tennesssee Four”.
I was flooded with memories of my first concert at Apollo Stadium in Adelaide, almost forty years ago … Johnny Cash and June Carter; (and of my first album purchase, which was a best of Johnny Cash, a few years earlier.)
Tex has faithfully reproduced not only the sound of JR Cash, but also his style, his look, and his stage persona.
Rachael played the role of June, in a convincing and polished performance.
Thankyou one and all for this memorable performance, and a nostalgic walk down memory lane, for me!

Going back for the second time was just as great as the first time. I loved how the show wasn’t exactly the same as the first, with a few different songs, Well Done again. And to meet the crew on the first night was a hoot, what a fantastic bunch of people. And another standing ovation, wow! It just go’s to show how popular Johnny Cash & Tex Perkins Still are. I hope the show will come back to Canberra sometime?

Saw the show in Canberra on 1 July 2010. Awesome cast, even more awesome musicians. You did JR proud. Please release a CD of the show. I believe many people will want this to complement their JR music collection, me included. Tex and co, your rendition of JR’s cover of NIN’s “Hurt” was the best live music I have heard in a very long time.

Saw the show for the 2nd time last night and it was AWESOME!!! I think it just keeps getting better & better. This is as close as I’ll ever get to seeing Johnny CASH and June CARTER live and both Tex & Rachael do an amazing job. Even if you’re not a massive Johnny CASH fan you should see the show just for the pure level of entertainment it provides! The Tennessee Four are “on fire” and if you closed your eyes you would swear it was 1968 & you were seeing JR & Co. in their hey-day. A fantastic production, everyone involved should be very proud of your efforts!! Fingers crossed the show will be coming back to Melbourne so we can see it again. TMIB rocks!!!!

What a fantastic show!!! Loved that you gave some history of Johnny Cash as well as singing his and others greatest hits. The Tennessee Four and June were fabulous and Tex did an awesome job as Johnny. Would see the show again.
Are you going to do a show in Darwin at all? I think it would a huge hit up there.
Also, I think someone should show re-runs of The Johnny Cash TV show. I was definitely born in the wrong era.

This was one of the most amazing shows I’ve ever seen!!
Tex does Johnny perfectly!! They way he sings, the way he talks, the way he moves – at times you forget that it’s Tex and truly believe that J.R. Cash has risen from the grave to perform one last show!!
Rachael Tidd’s June Carter is perfect as well!!
A great set-list of Cash songs spanning his career from the beginning right through to the final “American Recordings.”
An Amazing show!!! I am totally going to see it again!
